What is Words and Wood?

It's a marriage of two art forms -- writing and wood-burning -- that are intricately linked through my love of nature, creativity, and imagination.
Crafting Stories
Deeply rooted in the realms of speculative fiction, I have always found narratives in the mundane, from shadows on the wall to the patterns in ancient stones. Combined with my Bachelor’s Degree in Writing Arts, this lifelong curiosity has blossomed into a passion for building intricate, otherworldly civilizations. As an active participant in The South Jersey Writers’ Group and South Jersey Women Writers, I thrive on building meaningful connections with fellow authors and creators of every kind.
Artistic Expression
My childhood was spent sketching the flora of my surroundings and the mythical beasts I imagined hiding in the thickets. This early fascination with the natural world lends itself well to my work as a Pyrographic Artist. Beyond burning intricate designs into wood, I also enjoy photography, oil painting, watercolors, and jewelry. I strive to produce visual pieces that resonate with the themes of my written work.
Life in the Barrens
Residing in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, I share my home with my husband and a lively menagerie of two dogs, five cats, a macaw, and a local clan of spirited squirrels. This unique setting provides the perfect backdrop for my creative life. It is here, amidst the whispering pines and towering oaks, that I continue to weave my tales, create my art, and find inspiration in the mysterious spirit of the woods.
