Nineteen-year-old Nirre lives on Lethian Island, a country occupied by the Karg Empire since the Dragon Wars a century ago. Although the Lethian people have shunned her for looking like the enemy, Nirre must put her anger and fear aside when she learns that her newly discovered magical powers make her the only one who can save Lethian and the other Islands in the Archipelago. She journeys to Kargngul, where she has to defend herself against the Karg father who’s trying to kill her, avoid the magic police, and find a way to reach the Lost Isle of Ilien before she can revitalize their waning magic and win the war.
